Violence in our society has
reached crisis proportions.

This conference is to raise awareness on today's warning signs and predictors of emergency situations, and provide training and information dissemination. It is geared toward public safety personnel, law enforcement, mental health providers, child protection personnel and school personnel.

Domestic Abuse: She has 'fallen down the stairs' three times this week... Child Molestation: This man has been here for an hour watching two children play... Terrorism: After looking over both his shoulders, a man left his bag and walked away rapidly. Child Abuse: Every day this girl seems afraid to go home after school. This young girl is resistant and appears frightened by the man forcing her into the car.

About the NSU/BSO Partnership

Police OfficerNova Southeastern University (NSU) and the Broward County Sheriff's Office (BSO) are pleased to announce a partnership between the largest independent institution of higher education in Florida and the nation's largest full service public safety agency.

This partnership, which includes the Sheriff's Foundation of Broward County, was initially developed as a way to create educational opportunities for Broward County's finest men and women: BSO's 5,800 employees. However, the scope of the relationship has broadened to include a multitude of other opportunities to improve the quality of life for public safety officials and citizens, on a local, national, and global level. Since its inception, this unique partnership has developed and fostered several programs and initiatives in the following areas:
